Boolean Search Generator for LinkedIn, Indeed & Google Jobs
Paste your job title and I'll build search strings for LinkedIn, Indeed, and the ATS platforms behind thousands of company job boards. Same boolean tactics that got me interviews 2-3 days before jobs hit LinkedIn's recommendation feed.
Paste into the LinkedIn Jobs search bar (the top keyword field, not the general site search).
Paste into Indeed's "what" search field.
Paste directly into Google. Searches the ATS platforms behind thousands of company job boards, before jobs get recommended on LinkedIn.
What the X-ray search covers
Ashby: solid application UX
Lever: widely used by tech companies
Greenhouse: popular with mid-to-large companies
Workday: enterprise, clunky but everywhere
Search syntax verified against each platform's current search bar as of 2026-07-14.
Why this works
Wrap exact phrases in quotes
"Product Designer" matches that literal phrase. Drop the quotes and you get pages that merely mention "product" and "designer" somewhere. A much noisier result.
OR broadens, AND narrows
Group synonyms in parentheses and OR them together, then AND the group with your must-haves. ("Product Designer" OR "UX Designer") AND "Remote": either title, but only if remote.
X-ray straight into the ATS
site:jobs.lever.co and its cousins surface postings on the platforms that actually power job boards. I found roles this way 2-3 days before LinkedIn ever recommended them to me.
FAQ
What is a boolean search for job listings?
A boolean search uses the operators AND, OR, and NOT, along with quotes, to control exactly what a search engine matches. Quotes force an exact phrase match. OR broadens a search across synonyms. AND requires every term to appear. NOT excludes terms you don’t want.
Does LinkedIn support boolean search for jobs?
Yes. LinkedIn’s Jobs search bar, the keyword field, not the general site search, accepts quotes, AND, OR, and NOT with parentheses for grouping. That’s the same syntax this generator builds.
What is an ATS X-ray search?
Most companies post jobs through an applicant tracking system (ATS) like Ashby, Lever, Greenhouse, or Workday before the listing reaches LinkedIn or Indeed. An X-ray search uses Google’s site: operator to search directly inside those platforms. That’s how I found roles 2-3 days before LinkedIn recommended them to me.
Can I exclude job titles or seniority levels from my search?
Yes. Add exclude keywords like "senior" or "intern" and the generator wraps them in a NOT clause for LinkedIn and Indeed, or a minus sign for Google, so listings containing those words get filtered out.
Built by a recruiter, not a growth hacker.
I spent eight years as a technical recruiter before becoming a product designer. This tool formalizes the exact boolean strings I used, on both sides of the hiring table.
